Our scholarship program is an opportunity for full-time students to learn about good credit. In exchange, we are happy to provide a cash reward that can be used towards school-related items. Students are encouraged to browse the Creditnervana site to learn about credit and other factors that may influence their financial behavior. Within our content, you will find information regarding what factors affect your credit score and how to build your credit. These are questions you will be asked in your essay. Understanding how to build your credit score will become an important part of your life after graduation and as you continue to grow.
To apply for the scholarship, students will need to write an essay that contains at least 1,000 words. Applicants may write more than 1000 words if they wish, but we encourage students to be as thorough as possible and get to the point quickly. Creditnervana does not favor essays that contain the most words. We focus on quality rather than quantity!
The essay will need to address the following questions:
1. What is a credit score?
2. Explain the five factors that affect your FICO score.
3. What are the best ways to build credit?
4. How does a bad credit score negatively impact your life?
5. Describe a situation where your credit score has impacted you personally and what you learned from it.
Our team will award first, second, and third place winners based on the information students provide in their essay. We are looking for students who have a good understanding about what credit is and how it affects their personal choices.

Students have until January 15th of 2020 to send in their essays. Late applications will not be considered. We will also not consider students who have already graduated or are not currently enrolled full-time in an accredited institution. Students are required to send in proof of their current academic status. They can do so by asking their school to send in their transfer. Students to submit essays but not personal information or transcripts will not be considered for the scholarship. Scholarship money is intended to benefit full-time students in need of school-related expenses. This may include paying for tuition, room and board, or books.
We encourage students to expand their knowledge of financial institutions by asking questions and visiting local lenders. This will give them a good idea of how credit works and how credit cards may or may not be the solution. This experience can be included in part of your essay under question number five when it asks for your personal relationship with credit building. Our goal is to help students understand credit and how it works. Visiting a financial institution is a great way to learn about this. Students can also meet with a financial advisor to ask questions regarding this assignment. A financial advisor should be able to answer all credit-related questions.
Winners of the scholarship will be announced on January 16th, 2020. Essays will be considered by the team of experts at Creditnervana. Essays will be judged on their overall content and ability to answer the questions regarding credit. We will also look at originality of the responses and consider the sources used. Students are not required to site their references. However, we encourage students to rewrite all content and their own words to keep their essay original and avoid plagiarism.
Winners of the essay will be contacted through the information provided in their email. If you do not respond to our request to contact you, then a new winner will be selected within seven days. Scholarship winners are encouraged to re-apply the following year if they are still enrolled in a full-time program.
